Is this not the real issue in real estate affordability. Inflation. Taxes, government fees and spending have a caused a large chunk of the affordability crisis. Have 2 kids , both mobile. Would a new mortgage class ,let's call it developer mortgages help move new construction. This is max ,500000, or pick a number . Where the interest is deductable for new home purchasers for the term of this initial mortgage. Must be principle residence. Just trying to change the math.

We need a new mortgage product that only builders can access . The total of the taxes paid by the delevepor and purchaser paid on the sale sale is tax deductible to the purchaser on the principle residence sale only. Amortization and term 5 years. Changes the affordability instantly.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. Not all jobs became remote during COVID. We agree on lots here . Canada needs to look out for Canada .
