@AsteadWH Has anyone asked these DSA candidates if they voted for Clinton in 2016 and Harris in 2024? It seems like the people who gave us Trump are now using voters angst over Trump to get into office.
@ramez@dwarkesh_sp@collision@elonmusk From reading the transcript it is clear that Musk has no idea that solar cells and modules are different things. Why do people take this guy seriously?
@jonfavs Three very bad split second decisions were made. An officer aggressively approached the car and tried to open the door, Good drove away, and another agent shot her. I can understand Good's panic, but shouldn't ICE agents be trained to avoid creating this type of situation?
@JamesSurowiecki@baseballcrank Not enough mention is given to the agent who aggressively approached the car and was grabbing at the door handle. That clearly spooked Good, as it would many people, and she panicked. Standing in front of a car while your partner does that doesn't seem very professional.
@EricLevitz The lack of professionalism is stunning. There were 3 bad split second decisions here, the agent aggressively approaching the car, Good trying to flee, and the agent shooting her. Good's panic is understandable, but the two agents should be trained to avoid this situation.
@tbonier If Ross felt he was in danger it was his own fault. He shouldn't have been in front of a car when his partner was aggressively confronting a driver, when the car was going in reverse he had ample time to get out of the way, and he pulled out a gun instead of stepped backwards.
@tbonier Every once in a while something horrific happens that pierces through the conservative media bubble and shocks its audience. Like Jan 6 and George Floyd's murder. Each time, grifters like Kelly distort reality and brings the base back in line. Utterly shameless and soulless.
@TraderZarban@tagthatstock@pforce810@Jefferies Even without capacity expansion, the analyst said he expects the company will have $160/share in net cash by 2030. Not sure if a stock has ever been downgraded before by an analyst predicting the company will have 2/3 of its market cap in net cash in 5 years.
@peterbakernyt@CNN@ChrisCameronNYT This demented fool is trashing the legacy of the Greatest Generation and the countless people who made America the greatest country in the world. Why are there not bipartisan calls demanding this freak resign?
@SpencerHakimian The world is so much better now than it was 50 years ago. Just watch old TV shows or movies from the 70's. You'll be stunned by how dumpy everything looks. Even if the brightest minds were wasting their talents, the dimmer bulbs accomplished amazing things.
@joetimmons The bill not only keeps the 45X manufacturing credits, it effectively hands FSLR a monopoly in the US market. There is even a very real chance the company could announce expansion plans. That would really confuse people.
@JamesSurowiecki I actually know one of these people. They were caught 4 times by border patrol, but made it across on their 5th attempt. The notion that the border was wide open under Biden is a fantasy.
@SavannahSaint@dr_bouchard@WarMonitor3 America products, like the iPhone and Nike shoes, are made in foreign countries and don't show up in the trade deficit numbers. The deficit is just an accounting metric and it's insane that an idiot is using it to justify a trade war.
@RolandLey@Seirra2Kilo@JamesSurowiecki When Apple ships iPhones from China to the US, it buys the phones from its subsidiary in China and that money rolls right back to its balance sheet. The trade deficit is nothing more than an accounting metric.
@RolandLey@Seirra2Kilo@JamesSurowiecki I am not sure how to account for multinational corporations in your analogy, but that makes this whole thing even more absurd. It is almost like you own the farm and the only money that leaves your pocket are the few bucks the farmer pays for cheap labor to pick the peaches.
