With deep sadness that we share the awful news that our trustee, mentor, friend and beating heart of Amicus, Mark George KC, died yesterday. He was a huge part of what we do and will leave a massive hole but also an powerful legacy. Deepest condolences to his Sue and his family.

Earlier today, the SCOTUS declined to consider a Texas death penalty case where a juror admitted on the record before trial that he believed "non-white" races to be "the more violent races." The case, Love v. Texas, raised a claim of juror bias and was turned down by a 6-3 vote.

Much criticism and abuse for the QC who defended Wayne Cozens. It's worth remembering he's the same barrister who bravely fought for Colin Stagg who police as good as framed for the murder of Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common. Years later the actual murderer was convicted.
