maybe overused, maybe underused, maybe misunderstood, maybe intimately felt, maybe specific, maybe general, maybe greatest truth, maybe worst lie, and even still, such a meaningful word:

Think of all the horrific images you’ve seen from Gaza.
Now think of what worse carnage and murderous depravity Israel must be inflicting now to cut off the internet.
the food situation in gaza is dire. family members have told me that the children have been reduced to eating a scoop of rice a day & are getting sick from hunger. it's not a question of price. it's a question of access. ISRAEL IS PREVENTING ACCESS TO FOOD & STARVING CHILDREN.
Israel has bombed telecommunications infrastructure across most of Gaza.
Internet access has been almost entirely cut off, with no updates on when or if it will return.
I’m writing this from the edge of the sea,
where a faint signal still manages to reach my eSIM.
The Israeli regime cutting off communications from Gaza at the same moment that it appears poised to attack Iran is another dangerous sign. Is the regime preparing to use the distraction of war on Iran to complete its genocidal final solution in Gaza away from the eyes of the world?
Very dangerous signs coming out of the Middle East today. If the Israeli regime, which has been perpetrating genocide in Palestine and committing aggression across the region, manages to pull the US into another illegal war on its behalf- this time with Iran- the costs will be high and lasting. The world must stop the crimes of the rogue Israeli regime and its Western sponsors before it is too late. The impunity of the Israeli regime is a threat to the peace and security of the entire world. No war to defend Israel’s genocide in Palestine.
Issued by the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority:
All internet and fixed-line communications services in the Gaza Strip have been cut off after the last main fiber route in Gaza was targeted.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announces an escalation in digital isolation in the Gaza Strip as a result of the systematic targeting of communications infrastructure, despite numerous previous attempts to repair many of the long-severed and alternative routes.
The Authority also confirms that the southern and central governorates of the Gaza Strip have joined the isolation suffered by Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip for the second consecutive day, as a result of the continued targeting of communications networks and vital main routes.
The Authority notes that this dangerous escalation against communications infrastructure threatens to completely isolate the Gaza Strip from the outside world and prevents citizens from accessing essential services, which are vital under the current circumstances, including relief, health, media, and educational services.
While the Authority warns of the humanitarian and social consequences of this outage, it calls on all relevant local and international parties to urgently intervene to facilitate the implementation of the necessary arrangements, enabling technical crews to safely access the fault sites and carry out the required repairs.
The Authority points out that the Israeli occupation is still preventing technical crews from repairing the cables that were cut yesterday, and is also obstructing access to alternative backup routes. It is worth noting that attempts have been made for months and weeks to repair and fix many of the alternative routes, but the response has always been a refusal from the occupation. In light of the continued outage, the outage exacerbates the communications crisis and prolongs the isolation imposed on the Strip.
Only people who have e-sims have access to the internet across Gaza.
It takes you more than an hour to connect, and another hour to post.
But why did Israel bomb the main internet fiber route? Why is Israel insisting on isolating Gaza from the world?
So we are now deprived from food, water, electricity, and internet.
Egypt is deporting activists trying to break the Gaza siege. These are the times we are living in, where solidarity is being criminalised and complicity is being normalised.
At the same border where trucks of aid wait.
At the same Rafah Egypt keeps mostly shut.
