If you have a child going to university this year, please do not guide them to make the same mistakes, I did:

° I matriculated at the age of 17.
° I was accepted at UWC and convinced my grandparents to let me move into res. even though I was from Cape Town.
° My grandparents were extremely strict, so the first thing I did when I moved into res. was to stay up really, really late to watch DSTV in the TV room, since we did not have DSTV at home.
° The next day, I would wake up for class, maybe at 2pm, having missed my morning classes.
° It came to no surprise that I failed my first year.
° It was weird because I had just received distinctions in Matric.
