John 3:16 (King James Version)
> For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This is one of the best-known and most-quoted verses in the Bible. It appears in Jesusβ conversation with Nicodemus and summarizes the heart of the gospel: Godβs love demonstrated by giving His Son so that all who believe may receive eternal life.
