I can confirm that my car too has had its mileage reduced due to E20 fuel, despite being E20 compliant.

I purchased the Volkswagen Virtus 1.0 AT in April 2024, and I have used Speed 95 petrol from Bharat Petroleum since day one.

Here is a comparison of a full tank on my office route, both at a similar average speed of 24-25 km/h:

Pic 1 (Before E20): 588kms at 12.6kmpl
Pic 2 (After E20): 449kms at 10.4kmpl

That is roughly a 17.5% drop in mileage!

Mr. Gadkari had claimed a maximum reduction of 6%, which would have meant a mileage of around 11.84kmpl. My real world numbers are nearly 3 times worse than that!

This is the WORST time to own a petrol car, especially a turbo petrol one.

Since the country got busy with Dharmendra Pradhan resignation, let me remind how bad the E20 policy implemention is and how arrogant Govt's ministers response to it.

> E20 is being forced to non E20 vehicles and these types of vehicles are more on road than E20 compatible vehicles.

> E20 reduces mileage, there is no reduction in price of petrol to compensate that, public is paying extra price for it.

> There is no roadmap when E25, E30 etc will come? And when it comes whether E20 will still be available? New Car buyers are confused.

> When asked about pure Petrol option, minister said that those who want pure Petrol can buy it at around 170 rupees. How arrogant that reply is?

And most importantly, if Ethanol price is more than Petrol price then how we are saving money? Also what about huge water consumption to produce Ethanol, is it even sustainable.

The Supreme Court's directions on stray dogs must be implemented in every city and town

It is not difficult to round up stray dogs and put them in proper dog shelters

All that a town needs is government or municipal land on the outskirts of a town; levelling the land and fencing it; and putting the dogs in the enclosed space

Of course, provisions must be made for food and water

There are cost-effective ways to find the food and water for the dogs

ABC methods must and can be thought of in due course, but the first task is to round up the stray dogs and put them in a protected place

Streets must be free and safe for all people especially children and elderly people
