Why Should Healthy People Have To Share The Responsibility For Keeping Other People Healthy? Especially People Who Are Inherently Harder To Keep Healthy?
Itโs Not Fair.
On the lineโBiden WH officials are seeking to protect ~ $5 billion in funding for a program to develop the next generation of #COVID vaccines and treatments. They are also looking to save more than $1 billion to offer free coronavirus shots to uninsured. https://t.co/nR5WAS7IEM
So yours was

Over 90% of the US public believes we are in a national โmental health crisis.โ The associated manufactured assumption is that whatโs needed in response is more psychiatry and therapy, erasing that policies to support community care, housing, and income are far more important.
๐จ๐จ๐จBREAKING: A bipartisan bill has been introduced that would block members of Congress from getting paid if the U.S. enters debt default or if the government shuts down.
The No Pay for Congress During Default or Shutdown Act, introduced by Reps. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), would withhold lawmakers' pay for the duration of a debt limit breach or lapse in federal funding, an attempt to motivate legislators to prevent either situation.
The bill comes amid growing fears that Republicans will not agree to meet the June 1 deadline set by the Treasury Department to raise the debt limit and risk a catastrophic default on U.S. obligations.
โLawmakers should not be rewarded with our salaries until we do our jobs," Spanberger said.
What are your thoughts? Should it pass?
Iโve often thought "big" pandemics as revealing systemic things that are missing, or poorly done.
The obvious one in the case of COVID-19 is "clean air".
Clean water and clean surfaces are well-established basic sanitation measures.
Why not clean air, too?
Just published an op-ed in @thenation on the heels of the reintroduction of #MedicareForAll.
While we work towards a public healthcare system for everyone, we canโt let corporations take over Medicare.
We want #M4A, not Medicare (Dis)advantage for all.
