I want to thank my Democratic colleagues for their important contributions to this draft, and express my commitment to reaching a deal in the coming days that will allow this legislation to become law.
Consumer protection and pro-innovation policy aren't opposites — this bill proves it.
🚨NEWS: I’m hearing from multiple industry sources that the White House has agreed on an ethics package for the Clarity Act and sent the language to certain Senate Republicans this afternoon.
It’s still unclear what the details of the agreement are (I’ve reached out for comment), but industry participants are hopeful this could clear the way for updated bill text to be released soon.
@jameswnaish it’s your party that failed to read the room. You forgot you represent the people. We do not represent you!!! YOU DONT GET IT!
Your policy’s are pushing the prices of home grown products, meaning it’s cheaper to buy products from half way around the world than it is to buy British. In What world is that right?? Or even make a single bit of sense.
@WhiteHouse Hats off to you Sir. As a Brit, you set a huge standard for world leaders. The things you have achieved really put American people first. Congratulations to you all. @UKLabour this is the standard!! Citizens first!!
Hmmmm I wonder. Ripple acquired Metaco in 2023 for ~$250 million and Metaco is a HSBC partner. Coincidence? Or bullish for ripple:native what do you think?
Britain says it'll beat the G7 to a blockchain bond
Rachel Reeves (@RachelReevesMP) used her Mansion House speech to finally put a date on DIGIT. Early 2027. First G7 nation to issue sovereign debt on a distributed ledger, with more to follow if the pilot holds.
It runs on HSBC's Orion inside the Bank of England and FCA sandbox. Andrew Bailey went further the same night: the Bank wants DIGIT eligible as collateral in its own market operations. That's the part that counts, because it drags tokenized repo into the plumbing.
Treasury still won't say size, maturity, coupon, or who gets to buy. And Reeves framed the whole speech as a platform for "the next Prime Minister." She may not be Chancellor when this ships.
I’m sorry but I don’t agree with this. I doubt very much it has anything to do with climate change. It has everything to do with government policies and big supermarkets. Countries that live with far hotter and dryer climates still farm enough to be self sufficient.
If anything it’s because government are restricting or over charging the use of water preventing farmers from using it to feed crops.
Actually you’re mistaken. The Swift ledger only settles tokenised commercial bank deposits. It does not handle FX liquidity or currency exchanges, Swift states this clearly in its own documentation. That missing piece is exactly where $XRP can be used as a bridge asset.
Worth noting: FX liquidity is the biggest part of global settlement, worth over 2 quadrillion a year.
Also, the Swift ledger doesn’t convert one currency to another. Banks must already be using the same currency, which means a neutral “bridge” is still required for FX.
So while the Swift ledger improves some transfers, it only covers a limited part of the picture, not the full end‑to‑end settlement flow.
@swiftcommunity new shared ledger goes live today, settling tokenized bank deposits on a permissioned EVM chain.
It modernizes messaging and synchronizes balances.
But it doesn’t settle FX liquidity.
That’s still where $XRP comes in. This is a 2 quadrillion a year transfer.
Implemented in 9 months. Global from day one.
Swift's blockchain-based ledger is ready for use, with ANZ, BNP Paribas, BNY, Citi, DBS Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), FirstRand, HSBC, Itaú Unibanco, Lloyds Banking Group, Mashreq, MUFG, OCBC, Standard Chartered, UBS, UOB and Wells Fargo preparing to pilot 24/7 tokenised cross-border payments.
This is a significant step towards scaling tokenised finance powered by the standards, security and global reach the industry relies on. By combining distributed ledger technology with Swift’s secure messaging network, the ledger:
-Enhances liquidity efficiency
-Improves cash flow visibility
-Enables seamless token recognition
What’s next? This is the first use case. The ledger creates a foundation for future innovation in areas like programmable money and agentic commerce, and we're continuing to explore more use cases with our community - helping to take tokenised money closer to scalable, real-world adoption.
