Ex-Bersih leaders have criticised PKR Youth chief Kamil Abdul Munim for calling authorities to investigate NGO Mandiri, saying it reflects an old “playbook” used against civil society groups.

Former chairpersons Ambiga Sreenevasan and Maria Chin Abdullah, among others, said NGOs often rely on local and foreign grants for research and programmes, as most do not receive government funding.
