Some media literacy on trans issues:

1. When a piece about youth transition says "daughters" it's talking about young trans boys in a way that is priming you to dismiss them as silly and emotional and believe they need to be protected from themselves.

@pidgehangout but if they decided they wanted to seek blockers or other affirming medical care, i would encourage them to discuss it with family, psychiatry, and primary care to see their options, and whether that choice is right for them.

@pidgehangout i would likely advise the child to get to know themselves more, including social transitioning or exploration, such as exploring pronouns, names, clothing, or other forms of gender expression and presentation. not all trans* folk want to transition medically, either.
