CVS and Walmart announced plans to scale back pharmacy hours as the industry tries to address a shortage of pharmacist and other key positions.
@SamBrockNBC shares everything you need to know.
Hi @moderna_tx instead of changing 10 dose vial to 15, you need to be making single dose prefilled syringes to avoid wasting doses ! Some countries can’t get vaccine while pharmacies in USA having to waste vaccine @Commpharmacy@TruthRX
Six cases of a rare blood clot and the government does its job by halting the J & J vaccine. Quick question. How many mass shootings or murders of unarmed black men will it take to get those issues so promptly addressed?
@SciencePharmer Oh yeah we are still doing all that. I’m sure patients get tired of waiting and leave. Most of my patients spoke other languages and consultations get complicated real quick. I left that job this past summer. Now that I look back, I don’t know how I did it or actually survived.
@SciencePharmer It sounds crazy until you see it in action. I was doing 400+ daily pre-Covid. Up to 6 technicians helping out. Pure madness. It’s pretty much like this 😂😭
@SciencePharmer Product checking happens in seconds. I did the math at my old store one day, roughly allows for 15-20 seconds for each step in the workflow. I worked many 12-14 hr shifts without eating or going to the bathroom. It’s not a question of IF we will make mistakes anymore, but WHEN.
@SciencePharmer Thats the unsafe reality of US retail pharmacies run by corporate overlords who do not take patient safety seriously and want to compare a dispensing error to the equivalent of giving you wrong fast food order + a completely selfish society focused on satisfaction NOW vs safety🤬
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️This is something I think about everyday. For years, my pharmacy had only one entrance/exit. Also start thinking about what you can use as a weapon when and if the time comes.
A once-in-a-century pandemic cannot be the only thing that slows mass shootings in this country. It’s time for leaders everywhere to listen to the American people when they say enough is enough.
“We should not be subjected to arbitrary corporate metrics which are inconsistent with how other healthcare providers perform their duties for patients. These metrics often interfere with our ability to process and use our clinical judgement and interfere with patient care.”
The pharmacy payment model is completely broken and it’s time to bury it! Pharmacists are forced to do more with less and patient safety is on the line. Meanwhile the bottom lines of PBMs are growing exponentially. Completely unacceptable!
@IanHousel Rxs need indications included in the directions for use. That would help clear up a lot potential errors. No RPh knows Dx codes or has the time to look them up.
Primer for those who want to date/marry/be friends with a retail pharmacist:
- we can't just call in, the rx cannot open without us, it's not that easy
- we put in our vacation a year in advance, don't plan last minute trips because we probably can't go
- we work am/pm/holidays
