One day we’ll discuss Zachary and his need to break the black girls. first it was the slick comments toward Mela, then interfering between Bryce and Trinity and now KC and Aniya. Yeah I see right through him
Btw, these are my thoughts about the Bible prohibiting tattoos, sorry, this might be long, but walk with me
The verse people quote when arguing against tattoos is Leviticus 19:28, which says, “you shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves”. But most people skip the context
That command was given specifically to the Israelites who had just left Egypt and were surrounded by Canaanite cultures that used body markings as part of pagan mourning rituals and idol worship. The prohibition wasn’t about tattoos as a form of personal expression. It was about not copying the religious practices of neighbouring peoples who cut and marked their bodies as acts of devotion to other gods. It was a cultural and religious boundary, and not a blanket moral statement about body art
Also, a few things worth knowing are: the word translated as “tattoo” in modern Bible versions appears exactly once in all of Hebrew scripture, right there in that verse. Scholars are not even fully agreed on what the original Hebrew word means. And the word “tattoo” itself didn't enter the English language until the late 1700s, which is why older translations like the King James Version say “print any marks upon you” instead of tattoo
There is also no prohibition against tattoos anywhere in the New Testament. Some Christians consider the Leviticus laws part of the Old Covenant that no longer applies. Others disagree, and rightfully so btw. But the honest reading of the text is that it was addressing a very specific practice in a very specific historical moment, not what someone put on their ribcage to remember their mother
The tattoos being condemned in the Bible and the tattoos people are getting today are really not the same thing. And it might be worth sitting with that before using a verse you haven’t fully read to judge someone
She’s here to enjoy her vacation but everyone keeps coming to her for advice like she gaf so she just tells them what they want to hear so they can leave her #mydaughterisqueen
