Everyone is so emotionally intelligent nowadays they completely miss the part where love sometimes means being patient with someone who's still figuring things out. We've learned the language of boundaries and red flags so well we forget that healing doesn't always look pretty or perform well. We live in a time where one wrong text can end a connection and one imperfect moment can brand someone as unsafe. Where protecting your peace is sometimes just avoiding intimacy. We confuse regulation with disconnection, clarity with control, detachment with wisdom. And in doing so we build curated lives filled with people who never challenge our edges and only mirror them. We mistake emotional intelligence for emotional convenience. And then we wonder why everything feels so distant even when we're doing everything right.
I think this is what I love about the DC Animated Universe vs DC Extended Universe. The animated films give more “life” to each character, making them feel more layered and meaningful. and this particular scene really captures that — it has actual weight and meaning ✨
"We're not inducting children into the League"🤣
Shows Shazam visibly nervous
Diana acting like her entire island isn't raised from birth to be soldiers.
according to psychology people who often talk to themselves build fake scenarios and have full conversations in their heads often assume it’s normal. but in reality, it’s a form of self regulation, away to process emotions when there’s no one who truly understands them. 1/5
When you select a partner, whether you realize it or not, you're choosing a whole lifestyle and not just the person. You're choosing their sleep schedule. You're choosing their money habits, you're choosing their stress levels, their family drama, their levels of cleanliness, their work ethic, their coping mechanisms, all of these things will be a baseline of your daily life. If that normal is doom scrolling till 2:00 a.m., avoiding all conflict, impulse spending and never exercising, guess what, they're signing up to live in that ecosystem. Love does not cancel out people's flaws. In fact, love just makes you tolerate them for longer. Most people obsess over do we have romantic chemistry? They completely skip "Can I live with this person's version of a tuesday for the next 10 years?" The hard truth is you don't fix somebody's lifestyle from the inside while either accept the package as they are or you walk away.
1. You are not as important as you think you are. People are not thinking about you as much as you believe. They are busy with their own lives, their own problems, and their own survival. If you died today, the world would keep spinning. Your job would replace you in a week. Your "friends" would move on. And the people you think care about you? Most of them care about what you can do for them.
2. Most people do not actually care about you. They care about what you can offer them. Your attention. Your validation. Your time. Your resources. Your presence. The moment you stop being useful, you will see how quickly they disappear. This is not pessimism. This is reality.
3. Love does not fix anything. You can love someone with everything you have, and they will still hurt you. You can give your all to a relationship, and it will still fail. Love is not enough. Compatibility, communication, effort, accountability those are what make relationships work. Love is just the starting point. It is not the solution.
"don't text them too much because people get bored whenever you show them too much attention." Guys, why are we complicating love so much? Why do I have to pretend that I hate someone in order for them to like me back. People used to send each other love letters. We used to write poems about our loved ones, but me sending two texts in a row is doing too much. We must be living in opposite world because I had no clue that effort and consistency is an ick. My mama taught me that if I love someone, I gotta show them that love with all of my heart. But I guess this is the world we live in.
hooked up with a dude last week that had a respectable low body fat %, but cuddling his bod felt hard, and i think now i get why a little bit of fat is important
nice muscles looks great and all yes, but from afar. up close it feels like stone :/
This line from Atomic Habits isn't ready to leave my head:
"It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment."
all body types are beautiful and wonderful
for example,
A is good for waist grabs
B is good for feeling protected
C is good for cuddles
D is good for nothing and will probably tell me to get on a treadmill
