No man walks into marriage planning to leave after a few months or years, and no woman says yes with the hope that it will all end in heartbreak. At the beginning, most people step into it with sincerity, with dreams of building something lasting, something that will stand the test of time, something that will carry them together until their final days. But as time unfolds, reality often tells a different story.
Two people come together and decide to build a life. Around them, families gather with joy, friends show up with love, people spend their money, their time, their energy just to celebrate that union. Some travel long distances, some make sacrifices you may never even fully understand, all because they believe in what you are starting. Yet, in the end, what remains in many cases is disappointment—divorce, betrayal, chaos, or even violence replacing what once felt pure and hopeful.
Marriage is not just a ceremony or a beautiful day filled with pictures and laughter. It is a lifelong responsibility, a serious commitment that demands emotional readiness, patience, and honesty. If you are not prepared for that weight, it is better to wait than to rush into something you cannot sustain. Do not marry an idea or someone’s potential. Marry what is real, because marriage does not repair broken patterns—it exposes them. Whatever you choose to ignore before marriage will only grow louder after it.
One truth remains unavoidable: you can choose your partner, but your children will not have that privilege to choose their father. The person you decide to build a life with becomes the mother or father your children will grow up knowing. That decision carries consequences far beyond you, and it deserves careful thought, maturity, and responsibility.
In the end don’t be the reason people regrets their sacrifices.
Whenever you are in a rush to finish your prayer, remember that everything you are seeking and everything you are afraid of missing out on is in the hands of the one in whose presence you are standing.
Anything solar feels like a fraud. As a public servant, I spent a fortune installing that nonsense lithium batteries, but Salihu, the outcome is far from what I was marketed to believe. No one can survive comfortably in Nigeria off the national grid. Duk karyar banza ce, people are manipulated to accept stress.
People are just deceiving themselves. Renewable energy is nothing but overrated hype. Honestly, a generator remains the only somewhat reliable option. Life has become exhausting, every day you’re consumed by thoughts of utilities, and I don’t like it.
I’m so mentally stressed. Rayuwar tsiya ce off this one off that one, ba wani discipline….I will never accept it. It’s the same with that madness called ‘split bills’ that I find so disrespectful. These things are not African at all, it’s entirely Western, in my opinion.
Duk nagaji…
Wallahi we have to be very careful with the kind of cartoons our kids watch , my daughter was watching jimjam this morning, a show called “daisy and ollie” and the next thing I heard was 2 dads adopted a child because they can’t have one and my attention was immediately called
One of the most important concepts in Tazkiyah is to accept failure - to learn to tell yourself you are not perfect. It is ok to fail or not do well, as long as you have put in the effort.
@Galadima_Samaru Tell me, the greatest man to have ever walked on this earth worked for WHO???? Ya SALAM! Brothers whats the argument about then. Marry those that have no desire to work and live in peace. You cant have your cake and eat it too
@Galadima_Samaru Men marry career oriented women and want them to drop everything FOR the REST of their lives to cater to their every whim and desire forgetting she is a whole human being on her own with a life. Even in marriage your partner is your equal not subordinate.
Now, jokes apart, if you rate and respect a babe you won’t leave your plates unwashed, your bed rough, and your floor unkept. You will arrange the house as though you are expecting a new bride. See finish causes a lot of things.
When this thing started i really hoped & prayed it wasn’t true. I just wanted to hold on to news of good outcomes. Because the alternative would be ugly.
This is beyond sad and I can’t even be angry, all I feel is sadness and anxiety
You cannot keep telling one person to be patient in marriage while the other keeps misbehaving. You'd be helping to promote abuse.
If only we could spend the energy on the other to act right.
Patience is not gender based.
Patience is for everybody.
So is acting right.
