dunno if itβs possible to overstate how potentially transformative it is to have a player like wemby become the face of the nba. a bunch of boys/young men growing up seeing this kind of unabashed raw emotion and care factor is big time
I think this is quietly the moment that changed the NBA. SGA, the MVP, had an open lane with the season on the line. Wemby stepped up out of nowhere. Shai, like any superstar, would usually explode to the rim for the foul and one. Instead, he frantically threw it away and almost turned it over. It just showed the power of Wemby, that his presence will make MVPs bend to him when itβs all on the line. It was the ultimate statement that his presence is the most powerful thing in basketball.
Worthy winners PSG!

This evening in Budapest,
Paris Saint-Germain fans raise a huge "Free Palestine" banner in solidarity with Palestine
I worry that Wembanyama will get caught up in the distractions of New York City, like the Rose Reading Room at the public library or the upcoming conference on participatory futures at The New School
The Spurs are a tornado of irony. Wemby gets his fifth foul, Kornet comes in and turns into Wemby for the most important 60 seconds of his career. Champagnie misses Wemby wide open under the rim, Harper is the one who flies in to put back the miss. The Spurs are winning this game with aggression and execution. What a classic game.
can someone make a compilation of all the times the camera pans to chet internalizing his pain this series? has to be at least a dozen times it happened like this lmao.
