Geoff Cousins reveals that one of the reasons given yesterday for not allowing women into the very powerful Australia Club is because its all-male membership might have to change their behaviour at lunch.
Oh yeah, and women might want to change the decor.
Seriously.
$100B for Attack class subs OR $20 billion for 20 off-the-shelf subs, built in Adelaide, enhanced by Aussie companies, and delivered by 2030. We could then spend the $70 billion change on Defence capability, education, health, aged care etc. #auspol https://t.co/n3mnTK7S6R
The press should ask Alex Hawke a few questions:
—What offence did the Sri Lankan refugee family commit, to justify locking them up?
—Did they get a trial?
—Who ordered that they should be locked up?
—How do we “protect our borders” by locking them up?
It’s troubling that Mr Morrison couldn’t secure a one-on-one with President Biden.
I urge Mr Morrison to reflect on how his stubborn refusal to sign up to Net Zero Emissions by 2050 is leaving Australia isolated in a competitive world.

Are you concerned that current war powers in Australia mean that one man Scott Morrison or the Exec alone can take us into another overseas war? Find out more https://t.co/IXX0R7SSFV #auspol#BeSureOnWar
I hope more federal Liberal MP’s follow Sydney moderate Trent Zimmerman and speak out in the name of humanity to allow the Tamil family to “go home to Bilo” - Biloela the town that welcomes them in Central Queensland.
A 3 year old is in hospital after a suspected blood infection went untreated for 10 days.
Tharunicaa and her sister Kopika were born here. They’ve spent nearly all their lives in detention.
We’re better than this. It’s time to bring these girls and their parents #HomeToBilo.
Please support our first ever crowd funding campaign! for war powers reform - help us make that change.
Today is our last day. Can you help?https://t.co/JCC4Pt0tYH
Thank you #auspol#democracy
I’ve spent past 20 years at @ASRC1 fighting to have all children freed from detention. I need you to know what is happening to Tharni is not an aberration it’s the standard operating procedure of Government. Made only possible when you dehumanise & demonise people seeking asylum.
A reminder today @karenandrewsmp under section 195A of Migration Act has the unfettered power to release family on permanent visa back to Biloela. The test is simply is it in “public interest” to do so. We cannot think in 20 years of a stronger example of it being so #hometobilo
#hometobilo The conduct of staff in refusing to take a sick child to obtain proper health care is one, negligence, and two, a clear breach of the duty of care owed by the Commonwealth to detainees. It might also amount to cruel and unusual punishment under international law
More front than a rat with a gold tooth- PM planning, as just an “observer”, to lecture G7 on need to address failures of global institutions - which most would agree- while ducking climate responsibilities commitments and meaningful action
3 yr old Tharni has now been diagnosed with (untreated) pneumonia. What happens when you leave a child in a detention facility for 10 days while they vomit, have a high fever & diarrhoea. Again @karenandrewsmp they remain detained at your direction. Is this the legacy you want?
