This paper has been submitted to AJ, and comments are welcome! I am very happy to finally put it out there, as an incredible amount of effort went towards it. And oh, at publication, all the code used in the paper will be made public. (The GMM code already is)

Up to now, this analysis was purely data-driven: we did not assume any particular migration scenario or population model. However, when we remember we’re not alone, we can make some inferences. If you’re into that, there’s 5 pages of discussion in Section 7 waiting for you!
