@TGaitan_94@GSSIMR@ScienceStowers My first faculty meeting was the one where they discussed the post-quals raise. I was so impressed by how much the faculty support you all - it was really heartwarming. Happy it’s out now!
@NicoleNuckolls You’re doing a good job in a crappy situation. It’s ok to talk about the bad parts and appreciate the good parts. You’re an incredibly talented scientist & you’re on the right track & doing what’s right for your career & family in a world that really doesn’t care about either.
I find media about the practice of being an artist- how to cultivate inspiration, explore, iterate, step out of bounds & reapproach - so helpful in building my relationship with the practice of being a scientist
@molecularmirror Also, it’s very hard to give yourself permission to be free, which is important for science especially at @ScienceStowers . It’s a big challenge & art as a discipline has a lot of info about how to work on it
@molecularmirror I think when we get away from that central motivation is when we start to stumble. One of the biggest mistakes scientists make is to confuse busy-ness with productivity (or relatedly, data with meaning)- the wisdom of artists helps with this
The Sanchez lab got together for the Thanksgiving lunch today @ScienceStowers. And we had a hot topic discussion on ‘Why cinnamon in desserts?’ Pic courtesy:#michellelewallen
We are excited to announce the launch of our new website and digital brand! The new https://t.co/GPQ0eOSnHq dives into our unique approach to science and the impact of our research. Take a minute to explore. #innovation#discovery
