BREAKING: Virginia Democrats deliver a brutal gut-punch to Trump and Republicans by unveiling new maps to add FOUR new blue seats!

Legendary boxer Mike Tyson once said “everyone’s got a plan until they get punched in the mouth,” and the Republican Party is about to find that out the hard way.
At Trump’s behest, the GOP needlessly started a redistricting war by using racist gerrymanders to give themselves more red seats in Texas and other Republican-held states.

Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Don Scott said President Donald Trump was "bullying" other states to redraw their congressional maps, prompting Virginia to do the same. "We didn't want to have to do this," he said. "This was done because Donald Trump told Texas, Indiana, North Carolina—our neighbors—to rig their elections."

Instead of just standing by, Democrats punched back by calling for their own new maps — and while Republican efforts to pass new maps are stalling out in places like Indiana and Kansas, Virginia Democrats just unveiled a new map that would take the Virginia congressional delegation from six Democrats and five Republicans to TEN Democrats and just one Republican.

Thanks to the Democratic majority in both the state House and Senate and Democrats in the attorney general’s office and governor’s mansion, these maps should pass easily…if the courts allow them to pass.
The legal battles that are ensnaring the GOP efforts to redraw the maps in places like Louisiana, North Carolina, Utah, and Missouri will ultimately decide if these new maps — but this new map is a key piece of insurance to nullify the gains the Republicans will make if their maps ultimately are allowed to be adopted.
Republicans clearly expected us to roll over and play by the rules — but this is a new era, a new Democratic Party, and a fight that THEY started just because Trump told them to.
