Armed robbery has now become a recurring nightmare for students at Ibogun Campus, Olabisi Onabanjo University. This is no longer a random incident, it is a pattern. Night after night, students are attacked by armed robbers carrying guns, cutlasses, and dangerous weapons. Gadgets are stolen, students are injured, and lives are constantly at risk.
We are students, not victims. We should not be forced to live in fear in our own hostels and communities. How many more attacks will happen before urgent action is taken? How many more students must be traumatized or harmed?
This is a serious security failure, and it cannot be ignored any longer. The safety of students must be treated as a priority, not an afterthought. We demand immediate and visible action to secure the Ibogun community and protect students.
Enough is enough.

PRESS RELEASE
FALSE SECURITY ALERT IN IFO: POLICE CONFIRM ROAD WORKERS, DISPEL CRIMINALS RUMOUR
The Ogun State Police Command has debunked a security scare in Ifo following the circulation of information alleging that a bus conveying suspected criminals was sighted along the Ibogun Road axis.
Acting on intelligence received on June 3, 2026, police surveillance and anti-robbery teams swiftly responded to the area and discovered that the bus, which had been intercepted by some youths, was conveying 21 labourers engaged by a construction company handling the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Ifo–Ibogun Road.
Further verification by the police confirmed that the workers were legitimately employed for the ongoing federal road project. The report linking them to criminal activities was found to be false and unfounded. Police officers subsequently assured the workers of their safety and escorted them to their work site, while members of the public were cautioned against spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary panic and harassment of law-abiding citizens.
