BREAKING: Median cost to buy a house hits a new record of $2,748/mo, up a MASSIVE 90% since 2020.
In other words, buying a house today costs nearly $33,000 per year.
This is 46% of the median PRE-TAX household income in the US.
Post-tax, homebuyers in the US are spending nearly 70% of their income on home payments.
Meanwhile, the median monthly apartment rent just hit a fresh record of $1,859/mo.
How has it become to difficult to have a place to live?
A huge chunk of my baseball fan life is just ... poof. Gone. I know that the trades don't take AWAY any of the experiences, and I know I'll circle back to them with joy soon enough. But I'm just so crushed right now. So much more than I thought I could be by damn baseball trades.
At least Javy gets to play with his good friend, Francisco Lindor. Maybe into the postseason. Maybe win a championship together. That really would be cool.
But fuck, man. This just hurts right now.
Part of the emotion? I just keep thinking about the damn World Series, and what that all meant, and now it’s like, yeah, that is definitely VERY in the past. A life passing by thing. The checkpoints are hard.
