This may be the best synthesis I’ve heard of the entire AI situation, from Palantir CEO:
“There’s a myriad of problems these models solve, and an even bigger amount of problems they create.”
@atmoio yoo man dont fall into that trap of getting one thing right and thinking now you have the answers to every problem in the world. Consciousness isn't as simple as you describe it, its called the hard problem of science for a reason ☮️
"the strait of hormuz is open"
"the strait of hormuz is closed"
"wait they're opening it again"
"the strait of hormuz is actually closed this time"
europeans having no idea just enjoying the weekend:
Mark Rutte is a near-perfect example of what’s gone wrong with Europe’s political class (and I mean Europe, not just the EU). Too many of its political elites have no genuine convictions beyond self-preservation.
They aren't really pro-American or anti-Russian, or vice versa. They're pro-money and, above all, pro-themselves.
As Dutch PM, Rutte spent years dragging his feet on NATO’s old 2% target and treated defence spending as negotiable. Now, in his new role, he sells 5% as a moral imperative and praises Trump’s “leadership” for making the world safer by bombing Iran.
@IAmSophiaNelson Because Orban controls all right wing politicians in central and eastern Europe. He keeps that whole network in place by providing “loans” to those countries to keep the ideology alive. Without him right wing governments in Serbia, Macedonia, Slovakia will collapse
