Honestly, sobrang disappointing ng commentary sa All-Star Basketball game today. Some of the remarks from the commentators were unprofessional, shady, and downright insulting. That is not the kind of commentary you would expect from people whose job is to provide fair and professional coverage of the game.

What made it even more frustrating was how obvious the favoritism was. Just because it was the home team’s court doesn’t mean the commentators should openly favor them or constantly make remarks that put the other team down. You can support the home team without completely losing your professionalism and objectivity.

And that “puhunan ang mukha” remark? That was incredibly disrespectful to the people you were referring to. Their acting is not simply something they do because they have the looks for it. Those “actors” are actually degree holders, and acting are just a side quest, but it is something they are genuinely dedicated to and passionate about. Reducing their craft to their appearance is dismissive of their education, effort, talent, and hard work.

And yes, baka para sa inyo joke lang ang ibang comments, pero hindi lahat ng tao pare-pareho ng humor. Not everyone has the same sense of humor, and not everyone will interpret your remarks the way you intended. When you’re speaking on a professional broadcast, you should know when a joke crosses the line into disrespect. Think before you speak. Sometimes, it’s better to eat your words than say something that unnecessarily insults other people.

Commentators should know the difference between playful banter and unnecessary disrespect. Fans tune in to enjoy the game, not to listen to biased, shady, and insulting commentary.

And to the organization: sana naman piliin ninyo nang maayos kung sino ang ilalagay ninyo sa commentary. Fairness, professionalism, and respect should be the bare minimum. Fans and players deserve better. This was genuinely so disappointing.
