Tuvan throat singing is a Central Asian vocal technique from Tuva (Siberia) where one singer produces multiple notes at once.

Today, history has been made: NICE has approved teplizumab for use on the NHS in England and Wales.

Teplizumab is the first ever immunotherapy that can delay the onset of type 1 diabetes symptoms for people in the early stages of the condition.

For the first time, we’re not just managing type 1 - we’re changing its course.

This milestone means many things. But above all, it means time.

More time to simply be a child. A reduction in emergency diagnoses and serious complications like diabetic ketoacidosis. A softer landing for individuals and families suddenly facing management of a life-long condition, and with it, renewed hope for the future.

And this achievement belongs to you, our community. Breakthrough T1D funded early-stage research and the clinical trials that made teplizumab a reality. This breakthrough was made possible by your belief and support.

The letter in Boston's largest newspaper reads: "Dear Tartan Army,

@sotonDSN @EmmaBoswell5 Kinsale is, we've often passed through heading to or from West Cork which is fantastic. Not so great for just a weekend from the UK as it is much further west (Clonakilty, Skibbereen, Baltimore, Bantry and all places in between)

@sotonDSN @EmmaBoswell5 Cork and Limerick are both good. Cork is a reasonable sized city and if you're not wanting a city weekend the from there out to Kinsale on the coast.
Limerick and Galway are both smaller, Galway feeling much like a big town rather than city.

The BBC has announced that its Long Wave service on 198kHz, currently transmitting BBC Radio 4, will close on 27 June 2026 at 1am BST.

The Long Wave transmitters at Droitwich in Worcestershire, Westerglen near Stirling, and Burghead overlooking the Moray Firth, will be closed that day. Together with the BBC Amateur Radio Group, we will be marking this occasion on the air and are looking for volunteers to activate a special call sign in the week leading up to and including the day of the closure.

In addition, three radio clubs have volunteered to activate special call signs to celebrate the almost-92 years of these historic transmitters on the day that they are finally turned off.
