@MartinSLewis Yes to both, 2001. I went to Imperial, course is very well respected, name is as well. Definitely got me a leg up to start with. So financially yes. The knowledge and skills probably wore off a while ago, but the name still helps.

Claude 4 just refactored my entire codebase in one call.

25 tool invocations. 3,000+ new lines. 12 brand new files.

It modularized everything. Broke up monoliths. Cleaned up spaghetti.

None of it worked.
But boy was it beautiful.

I'm teaching databases this semester at Berkeley. My students all seem unusually brilliant. Not many go to office hours, and not too many folks post on the course forum asking project questions.

Weirdly, the exam had the lowest recorded average in my 10 semesters teaching it.
