Public schools absolutely should not be teaching thing things like "You should trust the Biblical witness about the life of Jesus." They should be teaching things like "You are a cultureless bumpkin if you don't know these 150 Biblical references, and also you can't understand America governance without having read Joshua-2 Kings at least once in your life."

This way of teaching the Bible would be societally very very very good and the people who will end up howling loudest about it are, of course, evangelical Christians.
