@gemcarey Interestingly, some large government orgs, NGOs, and news orgs are beginning to experiment with a presence there. Still at early stages, but it's notable.
@gemcarey A lot of tech and science on Mastodon. Humanities have been making their way over, but not there yet. Same with journos. I understand there were some bad early experiences, and it's not as intuitive to get value out of it at the start. I think it will come good long-term though.
It would be an interesting campaign for the #WGA#writersstrike and #SGA to set up a "Strike subscription" fundraiser - create an ongoing subscription at the same rates as a streaming service, where consumers can support writers with cost of living expenses.
@Stoneman6666 @JonGracey@NoRollsBarred_ I was just giving love to Zelda, Link and Manny, so moved was I by their majesty I broke my solemn vow not to post on Twitter.
@Unwise_Trousers It's so well done, I've shared it a number of times and it's a pretty convincing argument for how that's an appropriate way to deal with the issue.
re: Mastodon I think it's been made out to be more complicated than it is. https://t.co/TP0V51NKnY is a really good start.
