Fragile breaks under stress. Robust resists and returns to baseline. Antifragile gains from disorder.
The Phoenix is robust. The Hydra is antifragile.
Most theology stops at robust — survive the hard thing, get back to who you were.
Christianity is built on the third category.
But the parable is not the Übermensch.
The gifts are not yours. You are a steward. The reckoning is real.
You engage at maximum intensity — but as someone who answers for what was entrusted, not as someone who claims it as proof of his own will.
Nietzsche's deepest attack on Christianity was that it was slave morality — that it sanctified weakness and called it virtue.
He was half right.
The Christianity he attacked exists. But it is a misreading of the tradition.
Faith is not preservation. Faith is antifragility.
I got into tech because it connected people.
Now, we’re building the most powerful tools of surveillance and lethality in history.
Alex Karp is right about the threat. He’s wrong about the cure.
You cannot solve the “alignment problem” by perfecting the central planner. You solve it by preserving the conditions under which error can be identified and corrected.
It’s time for the Three Separations: Tech from State, Money from State, Energy from State

Power corrupts.
Naïveté gets you killed.
Jesus chose neither.
I wrote about Jesus, Machiavelli, Tupac—and why moral power requires clarity without surrender.
"Software is eating the world" was 2011. @pmarca
In 2026, Hardware is eating the world.
As @garrytan often says, we need to build for the long term. But the Jevons Paradox of Intelligence shows that the more software we generate, the more we run into the hard walls of physics: Power, Silicon, and Thermal.

I’ve just released a new 3-part series, Innovation, Fast and Slow, exploring why the "Fast Clock" of Silicon Valley must adapt to the "Slow Clock" of infrastructure.
Part I: From Walkman to Megawatt – Why software tolerates speed, but the grid remembers error.
Part II: Nintendo Energy – A lesson in sovereignty, discipline, and the rare power of restraint.
Part III: When the Grid Becomes the Game – Shifting from Product-Market Fit to "Civilization Fit".
When technology becomes foundational, patience is architecture.

Shipping containers subsidized distance.
Software containers decoupled logic from hardware.
Energy is next
We’re moving from "custom infrastructure" to "standardized units."
My new article explores the "container moment" for energy and why composable hardware is the hardware API for the future city.

Clean energy isn’t oil.
Oil = scarce molecules + extraction power.
Solar & batteries = replicable tech + system design.
The last 20 years proved this:
China built hardware.
Taiwan made chips.
The U.S. owned the platforms.
Energy is heading the same way.
At Cold Electric, we’re betting on systems over parts: distributed, islandable, behind-the-meter energy that reduces dependence instead of shifting it.
Power now lives in architecture, not barrels.
America doesn’t need to do everything.
In the energy transition, the model is:
🇺🇸 Michael Jordan = architecture, platforms, upside
🇹🇼 Dennis Rodman = elite execution, manufacturing, hard work
Rodman didn’t steal Jordan’s glory. He made it possible.
Allied specialization beats isolation—every time.
