@lompattikammm Ya Jambatan Kota would be a nice place to stroll around. I usually go there to get my kids school uniform and school shoes. And you can cross the bridge to the other side as well - there's a nice little Taman there. I believe MBDK have done up the Taman Awam area near the river
Here is a little screen grab of Glenmarie / Glenmarie 2 LRT carpark satellite view (seems to be taken this year from Google Maps). You will notice that it is full, cars parked at every corner. Almost everyone chooses to drive there instead of taking other modes of transportation. Why? Because bus rides are unreliable / walkways are unsafe. First and last mile needs to be solved.
@Amshar_Aziz LRT3 is the carrot and some might argue not attractive to them because first and last mile issue. But, government needs to implement the stick solve jam. For example congestion charges for road users.
I have lived and worked in many other cities in the world. Yes what Malaysia has achieved with LRT3 is good. But we can do better. Unfortunately when things are not done right, it becomes a half cook solution. If want you more people to get off their cars, you will need to solve the first and last mile issue. For me, even though I do own a car, I will always try to use public transport as much as I can because I hate the jam, crazy road drivers and issues with parking.

Hey guys I not being negative. Infact I am also cheering about it in my own way. But at the same time put on reality hat and providing constructive criticism. If you read my post, I said I use it cause it is beneficial for me and furthermore I am a public transit enthusiast. But being a public transit user, I am on the ground and know the realities of what other users experience. I understand what their daily use of it entails. So putting on that hat, I am trying to let others know why more people do not embrace public transit from my point of view - and as a conclusion all I am saying is that we can do better ya and we must to better. But hurrah for this milestone!
Hello fellow public transit enthusiast. As much I cheered for LRT3 and wanted it to be open (I just did the back to back and back again ride this morning), don't you think its a bit early to raise a champagne glass? I work around BU and have started using the train since Monday, there's alot of curious users in the mix right now (people who use it for syiok syiok only). Need to wait for the dust to settle first. I think alot of times people would be put off by last mile issues.
@amerhadiazmi@Natcromancer Not really about perfect. It's about making it right. Good wouldn't be much good if it is not done right and reach only a handful of people. But yes it is definitely so much better than before.
Must wait till the dust settles. Pls help look at safe walking routes (true covered walk ways and safe routes end to end) from station to place of interest / businesses. Take BU station to Jalan Masjid (schools and homes) turning - walking route is exposed to main road (infront of petrol ⛽️)
1st month (free) is the honeymoon period. True adoption is when it is a paid service + last mile issues (are solved or not). What is last mile? Ability to the users to get to their final destination safely and timely - whether it is through feeder bus connection or just walking by foot. Government needs to make sure that users have options, convenience and most of safety of doing so - this means for those who are walking, there's a clear route / pathway that is walkable and safe for them to get there!
