Tips for increasing IQ, based on the latest science:
- If you’re planning to get a PhD in comms, switch to astrophysics (causes much higher IQ)
- If you like working with your hands, become a neurosurgeon instead of plumber
- Get a higher-paying job (lots of data on higher earners consistently have higher IQ)
- If you’re really optimizing for IQ, consider winning a Nobel Prize.
Three wise men. Three very high IQ individuals. And they bring amazing gifts. Gold, myrrh, you name it. Very smart, very successful guys. We could do with more guys like that today, let me tell you
Massive new @Nature study: castration increases lifespan across vertebrates (zoo mammals, rodents, wild animals).
This aligns with historical human data: Korean eunuchs lived 14-19 years longer than their peers.
Your move, @Bryan_Johnson.
You are out of your fucking mind if you think I'm gonna hang out with DC political journalists on Bluesky instead of watching the guy trying to make himself into a real life vampire take a heroic dose of psilocybin mushrooms and face his vanity in Hell
This will keep happening as long as people keep trivializing love. It's as simple as that. Love can't be deconstructed and reconstructed in some kind of aggregate. It is totally against our nature to try to find an optimally configured partner who satisfies our intellect. And no human being has ever satisfied another's ego, not in all the history of the species.
We are not meant to commodify ourselves and make products of each other. We are not meant to exchange deep pledges of devotion and then, when we have consumed one another and gotten bored, throw each other away without a second thought.
The happiest couples, who die in each other's arms after a long life together, treat love like a sacred responsibility from God. They treat it like it's rare and precious, worthy of a life's work of refinement. They feel blessed to have found it at all. They know there are forces that are greater than them, they know that life can be brutal and tragic, and they stay humble, knowing that humility is the one assurance of freedom we get in this life. And then they spend their freedom on building a good life with each other, and bringing into the world the beauty that only they can, together.
Deep down, everyone knows this is true. But too many people cringe too hard for believing it. They want a life without pain and so they repress how deeply and thoroughly they believe in loge. And to soothe the void of meaning caused by that repression, they envy the endless images of glamorous sham relationships on their screens. They come to secretly suspect there's an image that they can become, and thereby transcend the grubby particulars of their life. Images don't feel pain. Images don't gain weight. Images don't have moments of weakness.
They forget that humans only get a few true, beautiful shots in a lifetime to team up with someone that feels like home. Humble, unsexy, messy, unspectacular home. And in that home, to make things just a little less grubby for each other.
Half of our generation might die childless and alone, because they prefer vanity to reality. They literally waste away looking at their reflection in the phone, a false image of themselves that has never existed, and can't. They pine for a partner who will confirm their secret suspicions that they can become the beloved image, and they reject anyone who shows them their actual reflection.
What else can we say or do at this point? It's an unspeakable tragedy. We're doing it to ourselves and we can't bring ourselves to see it. We can't bring ourselves to see it.

It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. It's the phones. https://t.co/akANsu17te
