Anytime a car comes up on me with their windows down and I can hear them listening to talk radio or a gospel station or preacher, I get that same feeling as Vicky and Burt listening to their car radio as they approached Gatlin in Children of the Corn. Just saying.
@CornelWest Interesting that you don't call him your Brother Joe even though you called Trump Brother Donald in the same breath as fascist and gangster. Thought everyone was your Brother? And why don't you share with the world what Dr. King said about Israel and anti-Zionism?
So #MTG talks junk about Rep. #JasmineCrockett. Rep. Crockett calls her out, who can't take what she dishes. Same MTG who shows her a$$ at every SOTU but when presiding over the House, asks for order & decorum. Is she completely lacking in any self awareness whatsoever?
So long to our friend, our king, Bernard Hill.
We will never forget you.

With streaming services getting more and more expensive, I wonder if reading and libraries will make a resurgence? They say everything comes back eventually, fashion, lingo, music. Maybe so! After all, books are bingeable and bingeworthy!
I'm noticing an interesting trend: Bill Clinton voters who are against Obama and Biden. They think Uncle Bill was a great president but not Obama or Biden. If you think BC was great and are voting Trump, I really would like to know what's going on in your head. Actually, I don't.
Seeing some of the craziness I see people posting about the #Eclipse2024 are a reason why fanatics shouldn't be let anywhere near the levers of power. #eclipse
The problem with progressive (Christian) theological definitions of God as functions of the human experience become obvious when those theologians are pressed. E.g. John Dominic Crossan saying he cannot answer whether God was an objective reality in the Jurassic period, and 1/2
Liberal politics (Democratic Party) and liberal religion (Episcopal, Disciples, UCC, Unitarians) have the same problem. They're classist. If our democracy survives 2024, it needs to be reckoned with, ASAFP.
A Democrat was in the White House when my family was sent to the internment camps in 1941. It was an egregious violation of our human and civil rights.
It would have been understandable if people like me said they’d never vote for a Democrat again, given what had been done to us.
But being a liberal, being a progressive, means being able to look past my own grievances and concerns and think of the greater good. It means working from within the Democratic party to make it better, even when it has betrayed its values.
I went on to campaign for Adlai Stevenson when I became an adult. I marched for civil rights and had the honor of meeting Dr. Martin Luther King. I fought for redress for my community and have spent my life ensuring that America understood that we could not betray our Constitution in such a way ever again.
Bill Clinton broke my heart when he signed DOMA into law. It was a slap in the face to the LGBTQ community. And I knew that we still had much work to do. But I voted for him again in 1996 despite my misgivings, because the alternative was far worse. And my obligation as a citizen was to help choose the best leader for it, not to check out by not voting out of anger or protest.
There is no leader who will make the decision you want her or him to make 100 percent of the time. Your vote is a tool of hope for a better world. Use it wisely, for it is precious. Use it for others, for they are in need of your support, too.
The average monthly payment on a $345,000 mortgage has now eclipsed $3,500. Working and middle-class Americans simply can't afford this. We must pass my Stop Wall Street Landlords Act to reign in the corporate firms gobbling up housing for profit and build more mixed-income housing.

DEAR GOP… I am a Democrat. I have always been a Democrat. I’m not a “libtard”, I’m not a Communist, and I am not a “groomer”.
I’m a proud member of the Democratic Party.

The people who laughed when we said they had to vote for Hillary or we would lose Roe are now laughing when we say they have to vote for Biden or we'll lose literally everything.
