What I was doing while it ran: coaching my daughter's soccer team, spending time with my kids, and working on other projects. I'd check in, give a note or approve something, and get back to my day. IRL over URL.
The first cut was 15 seconds and my note was "we crammed too much in there." At 30 seconds my note was "the motion feels rushed," so I pointed it at Feelpixel's 10 principles of motion design. The final is about 90 seconds and uses the same easing curve as my website.
It's not perfect, and this was mostly an experiment. But I think it's extremely foolish to dismiss what these tools can do now. I'd encourage every creative to lean into AI and try new things.
The reel is built in code, HTML/SVG/CSS plus WebGL scenes with my logo animations and footage cut in as clips, rendered frame by frame in headless Chrome at 60fps with 32-subframe motion blur. It wrote the soundtrack too, in Python, with 113 cues locked to the edit.
Everyone's posting what they made with @claudeai Opus 5.5 so here's mine. This is my new reel, built in Claude Code over about 3 days. I gave the direction and the approvals, most of it from my phone.
@AlirezaAbiri99@Palmier_io Could not agree more. There’s a reason creatives don’t fuck with Higgsfield and they appeal mostly to non creatives. They ship at an impressive rate but I fundamentally can’t trust them because their tactics are so off putting.
