@Joseph1147354@DurvidImel Ironic, isn’t it?
HDR-as-camera-feature (exposure stacking) takes a scene w HIGH dynamic range, processes it to flatten the curve, and outputs it as an image that itself possesses (..yep) LOW dynamic range.
Then HDR-as-display-feature, a distinct thing, further confuses people.
Terribly sad about Tom Noonan passing. In casting Manhunter I auditioned about 10-15 actors in New York when Tom walked in the door and said, “I don’t want to talk. I just want to read.” He read and it was magical. We worked closely. I based Dollarhyde less on the novel’s character and more on a convicted killer whom I met and with whom I corresponded who was doing life in Vacaville. I took Tom into that world and he made it his own. It was an automatic to cast Tom in a wheelchair as Kelso in Heat. He did so much more fine work, but it was as the battered child become a killer adult - both alive in the same bottle - that projected the range and deep soul of this so acute and committed artist. Rest in peace, Tom.
@btholteanu@soonrightaway That’s not a great argument.
Oasis have been more influenced by The Beatles than any other single artist, but I like The Beatles and dislike Oasis.
Originality & innovation count for something.
@zoso67011@gguworld Yeah they re-recorded certain songs.
Even “Here I Go Again” on the 1987 album was a track they originally did in 1982, on the album Saints and Sinners.
Similarly, “Fool For Your Loving,” re-recorded in 1990 with Steve Vai, was originally recorded in 1980 for Ready an’ Willing.
@574hl337@hiragananinja Suicide rate among Japanese men is lower than USA men. Although for woman the reverse is true.
Overall it’s on a par with countries like France and Belgium - it’s not as elevated as it used to be.
Korea is about twice the rate of Japan.
