Protests are growing in Tirana, Albania over a luxury resort linked to President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The plan would transform Sazan Island, once a protected site and former communist military base, into a multibillion-dollar tourism destination, with additional hotels planned along the wildlife-rich coastline.
Demonstrators in Tirana have dubbed their movement the “flamingo revolution,” warning the project threatens fragile ecosystems. CBS News' Emmet Lyons has the full story.

Clown show. 🤡
One nutty separatist leader (Rath) says that I’m a Canadian patriot because I want to draft young Albertans “to die in the Ukraine war.”
Another nutty separatist leader (Sylvester) says that his Republic of Alberta would actually impose a military draft on young Albertans.
To fight in what war? 🧐
Albertans thinking of voting for separation to “send a message” or “get a new deal:” this is the kind of whackiness you would be enabling.
Lots of talk about separatists in Alberta but not hearing much about municipalities, towns or cities, that wouldn’t go along with a separate Alberta. What happens if say Calgary, Edmonton, Tilley decide they don’t want to separate and thus push for separation from Alberta???
Alberta Needs Stability - Not Political Gamesmanship
After years of fueling separatist rhetoric, weakening institutions, lowering referendum thresholds, and pushing constitutional conflict, the UCP suddenly wants Albertans to believe they are federalists.
It’s simply not credible.
You cannot spend years feeding division and then distance yourself from it once the political winds shift.
Albertans are frustrated and many of those frustrations are legitimate. But frustration with Ottawa is not the same thing as putting national unity, investment confidence, and Alberta’s stability at risk.
This government has spent years trying to speak to federalists and separatists at the same time.
And now the contradictions are catching up with them.
Alberta can be strong without being isolated.
We can stand up for Alberta while still respecting institutions, the rule of law, and the long-term stability this province depends on.
That’s the conversation we should actually be having.
Take a listen.

Maybe we should conclude that former PM Harper and his IDU organization are not friends of democracy? The IDU/Harper has also boosted, Jair Bolsonaro(in jail for attempting to subvert democracy), Trump, Modi, Netanyahu...
Viktor Orban is an IDU member. So is Trump. So is the Conservative Party of Canada
Look at the state of the U.S. or how Hungary is a Russian puppet state
Why would Canada want a government just as oppressive as those two? The CPC in its current form is a threat to democracy
OVERHEARD: For context on how big today is:
Viktor Orbán has been the blueprint. The proof that leaders can slowly dismantle democracy from the inside and stay in power forever.
His model spread across Europe and the USA.
Orbán’s playbook was the literal blueprint for Project 2025. The Heritage Foundation worked directly with Orbán’s allies in Hungary. CPAC held conferences in Budapest three times
Tonight that blueprint lost. In a landslide.

Would someone educate all @cbc network reporters that banning floor crossings, was voted down by prominent conservatives including Stephen Harper? Stop supporting the CPC party, when they keep picking losers as leaders. @PierrePoilievre@ianhanomansing
MAGA farmers bitching and moaning about their losses means nothing. Trump fucked them over during his first term and they voted for him again cuz daddy was gonna get rid of DEI and “illegals.” #DemsUnited
38 days in and the United States Commander in Beef has already pulled off the most complete victory in modern history.
Let’s recap the wins. 🏆
• Replaced Khamenei (86) with Khamenei (56)
• Reclaimed exactly 0kg of uranium
• Reopened a strait that was already open - now with a $2M toll per ship (up from $0)
• Proved F-15s and F-35s can in fact be downed by guys who “belong to the Stone Age”
• Got US bases destroyed across four or five countries (I've lost count)
• Shattered allied trust that the US would actually show up if things got spicy
• Put Iranians back in the streets (this time for their government)
• Installed Pakistan as the region’s voice of reason. Pakistan.
• Openly admitted arming the Kurds to stir trouble in Iran. The Kurds did nothing and kept the weapons.
• Bragged about the Crown Prince of the Gulf’s biggest petro-monarchy “kissing his ass”
• Raised the cost of living for all Americans even more thanks to skyrocketing gas prices.
He really did all that to the Middle Eas for the low, low price of a few thousand civilian lives, tens of billions in equipment, and every ally not named Israel.
If that’s not the Art of the Deal, I genuinely don’t know what you people expected.
And again, we had money to do all that, but not to provide healthcare to our own citizens.
Truly a victory that could only be won by someone capable of bankrupting a casino.
Re. Clinton on wrong side of street - I remember doing that in Rome in an official motorcade with about 12 motorcycle police spreading ongoing traffic. Never so scared in my life!!!
The arrival of “BEAST” to Pakistan is a signal that VP JD Vance is on his way, most likely early Saturday. Clinton flew in a private jet from India and drove wrong way (Right side of street) to give a lecture on 🇵🇰 TV. Pakistan has come a long way.
And don’t forget the loss of the USPetro$ impact, loss of US bases and allies in the ME, loss of US influence in NATO and loss of US so-called global prestige
Even a quick Iran deal won't undo the damage already done.
Stock losses, years of elevated oil prices, and a $350B defense budget increase that quietly translates to $3–4K in added taxes per household.
The economy doesn't just snap back. Some of this is permanent.
And to draw a comparison with the Vietnam war, the US had over 500K boots on the ground at its peak against a country of just 17M. Iran is a much bigger ball game!
General McCaffrey doesn’t use words like “bombshell.” He uses words like “no one in their right mind.”
A four-star general is now saying publicly what the situation demands: invading Iran was never a rational choice. It was chosen anyway.
And the nuclear program? Untouched. The stated objective of the entire operation is still sitting there. Whatever was hit, it wasn’t that.
Washington is now in the position every strategist dreads. Too far in to walk away. Too exposed to escalate. No victory condition. No exit ramp.
Iran has 90 million people, mountainous terrain, and four decades of preparation for exactly this scenario. The trap is closed.
McCaffrey said it out loud. In uniform.
Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
Need to tell Ted - The maximum number of U.S. troops in Vietnam peaked in early 1969, with estimates ranging between 536,100 and 543,400 troops. And the population at the time of North Vietnamese was about 17M. Iran has about 90M. Imagine US public opinion!
As two more top Iranian figures were killed in strikes, according to Israeli officials, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) argues “the objective here should be to collapse this regime.”
But he adds, “We are not going to see a scenario where we see hundreds of thousands of American troops on the ground for an extended period of time.”
🚨 BREAKING:
Iran didn't respond to US bombs with missiles.
They responded with GAME THEORY.
And in doing so, they may have just fired the most dangerous shot at the US dollar in 52 years.
Here's the move most people completely missed: 🧵
