@TheStalwart You can easily see the analogy. Sail trim is Fed policy, and it can be too tight. You have to loosen until you see an effect - inflation (sail luff) - then you've reached the right balance.

@TheStalwart So the guidance is to let out the mainsheet to "the verge of a luff." That is, let out the sail until it just begins to luff (flap), then trim in a touch.

15-25 is quite different from 5-50, though both might have a mean estimate of 20%.
