Chinese Man Found Hanging Near Railway in Chonburi; Body Shows Signs of Injury

A Chinese man was found hanging from a roof beam near a railway road in Bang Lamung district on Thursday morning, with authorities noting multiple injuries on his body and launching an investigation into the cause of death.

Police were alerted at about 9:30 a.m. on March 5 to the discovery of a foreign man’s body at a motorcycle parking shelter for hotel staff along the Khao Talo railway road in Nong Prue subdistrict.

Officers found the man, believed to be Chinese and aged around 30–40, hanging from a beam by a nylon rope about 1.5 meters long. His body was in a standing position with knees slightly bent. Two pieces of asphalt were placed beneath his legs. He was wearing a blue T-shirt with the word “ARAS” on the back, black-and-white elephant-pattern trousers, and white sneakers. No identification documents were found.

Authorities estimated the man had been dead for 6–12 hours. A preliminary examination showed bruises across his body, swelling on his face, and marks on his legs resembling electric shock injuries, while burn-like wounds were found on his back. Forensic officials believe the injuries may have occurred two to three days before his death.

Police also found three letters written in Chinese in the victim’s pocket, along with a lighter and a pen. The letters reportedly apologized to his family and asked for the embassy to be contacted so his body could be returned home.

The body has been sent to the Police General Hospital for an autopsy as police review surveillance footage and gather evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Maybe @sstrangio it would be better to comment from somewhere close to the action. Lives on the border are being ruined (we all know families who have evacuated relatives and those are the lucky ones as they have relatives in Bangkok and other parts of the Kingdom). Residents in Trat and Koh Chang are seeing their livelihoods destroyed. As a peak tourist season approaches. How would you feel about land mines on the Victoria / SA state boundary on the SA side

Dusit Thani Pattaya has temporarily suspended bookings for ‘Tiew Thai Kon La Krueng,’ a co-payment program promoting domestic tourism, due to issues with the Amazing Thailand app. This problem affects both customers and service providers, preventing payment confirmations and transaction processing.

The hotel is working with relevant authorities to resolve the issue and ensure that existing bookings can still access their benefits. Customers experiencing confirmation problems will receive support to protect their rights.

Bookings under the program will reopen once the app issues are resolved.

@RichardBarrow It is good to see that they have fixed. I think most of the problems on the website. However, I live here and I do not have a departure flight. Do you know if I leave that blank or will the system not accept it ? Maybe a workaround would be to put in a flight

@Tatnews_Org @PeainBKK I am meeting a group of people tomorrow who are all fretting about the new electronic travel card. I think it is a good idea but how is the progress on tidying up the website so that long term residents can choose Thailand as their residence ? I support the initiative.
