SMWS Preview tasting notes: https://t.co/998xVNyBfC
I should note that I've pretty much left Twitter, have uninstalled the app, and this is pretty much my last post. I'm on Bluesky and Mastodon. (About as often as I was ever here! π) Seeya folks!
@TenYearNote It wasn't by choice, for either of us. The logistics and scheduling just don't work out for us these days - hopefully that will change, but at the moment I don't see it happening anytime soon. π’
I feel dirty coming back to this dumpster fire, but I do need to point out that I have a tasting at the SMWS next week:

Three bottles from my selection, two that JP's been saving... it should be a great tasting!
@Coldorak@MaltMusings@Kirin_Company @WhiskyResource I've never seen one, and I don't see what advantage there is to them creating one. It's not a legal category, so what would be the point? (Sadly!)
@MaltMusings@Coldorak@Kirin_Company @WhiskyResource @MaltMusings thanks for that link! I've always been a little sceptical about including Ailsa Bay/Girvan in the list of potential single blends, as my understanding is that they are run quite separately. A single blend is more about singularity of production than of site, surely?
@Angus_MacRaild With your April Fools history, I can only make one assumption.
Good luck, God speed, and may the winds of the market ever be in your favour.
There can be no endeavour more exciting than an honest one. And knowing you, I'm excited about your endeavours. π
@Coldorak@PenderynWhisky@SMWSUK Absolutely. Those 60s Bowmores? Those 70s Laphroaigs?
Gutrot, all of them. I can't see why anyone is paying so much for them!
The idea that we can get something similar from Penderyn at a tenth of the price is laughable. Thankfully it'll never happen. π
@Coldorak@PenderynWhisky@SMWSUK Excellent. Let's make sure we keep this little secret between ourselves and a few other select people. π
Personally I think that @PenderynWhisky is quite underrated, but other people's loss is our gain.
This particular bottling is stunning. Um, I mean awful. Of course. π€£
@ChiswickFox@SpiritAndWood Thanks! It's always great to hear that the notes are useful. β€οΈπ₯
As soon as I have the time - and Greville Street have the bottles! - I hope to return to doing previews. I even hope to produce notes for the whole list again. Here's hoping for time in April or May...
@RobertFifoot There will always be deviants and alcoholics. According to the sources I've read, they've been drinking gin straight since at least the eighteenth century... π
