That sound still gives me flashbacks. This is a great video to try and give ppl an insight into how it would feel to go through a major hurricane. Little do they know this is not remotely the worst of it.
Fortunately, for most of the viewers, they never have to feel it. The ears popping, house shaking, bolted doors looking like they are going to blow open any moment, bowing and contorting, wind still rushing through any crack in the house, then a window busts, and the sound…the sound is unexplainable.
Then after hours, it stops abruptly. You come out in the eye to see most of your property destroyed to just have enough time to quickly grab a few things and turn around and seek shelter for round 2.
Round 2 seems/is worse. Much worse. You start begging for the sound of the hurricane winds to stop, but still it goes on, and on, and on.
When it finally ends, you come out to things that were standing during the eye being completely gone. You’re in shock.
Days later the shock is worn off and all you see is pure destruction & despair.
That’s what a cat 4/5 hurricane feels like.
