@jjcoop36 That's to be expected. A lot of college signs are seniors - see Atlanta's $500 bonuses. Also, pretty much all HS signs are really blue-chip guys, who have college options. No HS signs of "org players."
@JStein_WaPo And this is, of course, the fault of the Democratic Party; no fault at all lies with the fourth estate, which prefers horse race coverage to actually trying to educate readers/viewers/listeners. It's all entertainment now. Viewers, page views, clicks. Mission? Nah.
@hollywoodpete69@GregTSargent No, most MAGA don't want things destroyed. They're just ignorant of how things actually work, they've been conned, and they're going to freak out when their shit hits the fan and blows back in their faces.
@GregTSargent It's a scenario that will be repeated over and over, if Trump follows through with his tariff promises. Americans will lose their jobs, as employers face higher materials costs. Moreover, retail prices will rise, and at the higher price, fewer widgets will be purchased. We lose.
@brianstelter Yeah, Americans "feel," because they've avoided learning how to reason and understand. It's all feelings, emotions. They LIKE TV reality show hosts. They cannot discern reality from make-believe. They're easy prey for a demagogue like Trump.
@brianstelter@Ipsos Look, Americans, in general, are ignorant. We know this. The average American reads at a 6th grade level, which is to say, they can't read. They don't LIKE to read. So they can't comprehend complex issues. But they still vote. They vote their gut, which is often fearful.
@VABVOX The mayor isn't sure what can be done? Duh. Identify the individuals responsible for organizing the parade, approving the entries. If they are public employees, terminate them. If they're private citizens, shun them, humiliate them, label them racists. No kid gloves here.
@crampell@propublica Gut check for Americans. When this happened in Ireland (Halappanavar), it was a national scandal that led to real change. Do Americans give a damn?
@JoyceWhiteVance So Trump becomes a fugitive felon. He'd better land somewhere without an extradition treaty...and then, he'd better never travel, and hope that a US administration doesn't decide to use extraordinary means to return him for trial.
