My team is growing - we’re looking for an engineer who can help us take performance work beyond the Apple stack and drive big-picture, platform level performance improvements. Apply here:

MetricKit helped me understand my app’s background memory usage and identify reasons for system pressure terminations. I then made changes to reduce background memory usage, keeping my app active without system termination.

@steipete For emerging/saturated markets with device cohorts that skew older, may create quality gaps, but generally agree that modern hardware go zoom and Hermes seems quite effective!
I'm looking for someone to join my team and lead dev for MetricKit.framework. The right person for this role would define the vision and roadmap of the framework for the next 3-5+ years.
If you or anyone in your network might be a good fit, lmk: https://t.co/Vb3eVyi0fS
Join us for a deep dive in battery life and performance later this month @ the Apple Developer Center! Excited to be a part of the team that's making this happen. More info here:

@indragie Agree - love the take on hotspots. Makes me wonder if the perception of premature optimization might also come from a lack of convincing projections/data that convey the value of systemic optimizations.
@Jon889 Hey - MetricKit doesn’t require user opt in. The framework uses other mechanisms to respect user privacy when delivering app performance data. Can you give me some more details about what you’re seeing that led you to this conclusion?
I am very much on vacation right now, but we have some open roles for HI Designers on the Apple Design Team. If you’re interested, check out this posting and send your portfolio my way. https://t.co/ccsJmzPxXc
Another year, another #WWDC23. Here are three neat new things for MetricKit coming in iOS 17/macOS 14:
1. More info for obj-c exceptions in crash diagnostics
2. Extension support for diagnostics
3. MXSignpost data in diagnostics
