A whoppingly girthy ancient oak tree near Upton Pyne near Exeter, Devon. Its trunk is like an enormous barrel, overrun with ivy & other epiphytic growth. Although it's not got many living branches & looks every bit of it's 600+ years, it's awesome #ancientoak #thicktrunktuesday

My new favourite oak tree, not far from Christow in the Teign valley, Devon. Enormous trunk (looks easily 8metres circumference), with an even bigger crown - it towers over the surrounding alder, field maple, ash & oak. A majestic example of a pedunculate oak #thicktrunktuesday

@AlexLoughlin5 @katbaker2017 This is what many people in the UK don't fully realise (particularly repeat Tory voters). We need to do whatever it takes to avoid heading in the same direction!
