Rothera Ops: Your watchful eyes on aviation operations in the Antarctic
Great to get this Kenn Borek Basler and two other aircraft enroute to their destinations deeper in the Antarctic yesterday morning.
Yeah, Twitter’s fucked isn't it.
I've hardly used it since coming back from Antarctica. It’s just not a nice place.
I don't get the information I used to enjoy and interacting with lovely folk.
I’ll start spooling up more on Threads.

@atclew58 Thanks for the quick response, Lew. From a UK perspective, it seems this takes up quite a lot of time in sometimes busy environments. Can imagine distracting for aircrews too during critical stages of flight? Surely a lot of events are MORable?
Any American ATCOs follow me here.
What’s the process after “Possible pilot deviation, I have a number for you”.
Just intrigued as to what procedures y’all follow.
The fact that Reform may actually get a big chunk of the vote this election is deeply concerning when Farage makes comments like this (and many other fallacies on a whole litany of topics). https://t.co/fbP5ovQUXZ
Want a half-hour escape into #Antarctic wilderness this weekend? Spectacular wildlife & fascinating scientific discoveries on @BBCWorld & - in the UK - any time you like on @BBCiPlayer

Is the state of the NHS a topic that's going to influence your vote?
I’d recommend @Kevin_Fong’s podcast series ‘The NHS: Who Cares?’ to get an informed update on the state and potential futures of the NHS. https://t.co/LGGKnIHpB8
I'm reading The Future of Geography at the moment. Have generally been happy reading the rest of Tim Marshall’s work but this screams of being rushed, poorly researched, bad grammar etc. Rather disappointing. Has anyone else read it at all?
Adelaide Island looking wonderful in this Sentinel-1 synthetic aperture radar image recently. You can even make out individual icebergs and sea ice developing off to the south west.
