When people enter Philadelphia, they should immediately feel the pride we have for our city. 🌿🎨
That is what the Gateways to Philadelphia project is all about.
Led by Carlton Williams and our @phl_cgoffice, this work along the Schuylkill and Vine Street Expressways will set a nationwide standard for highway beautification through vibrant landscaping, enhanced maintenance, and bold public art.
As we prepare to welcome the nation and the world for America’s 250th birthday and the historic summer of 2026, we are making investments that will leave a lasting impact for Philadelphians long after the celebrations are over.
💚 This is One Philly in action. And I’m grateful to all of our city, state, nonprofit, and private sector partners helping bring this vision to life, including and @muralarts, PHS, @pewtrusts, @Amtrak, @CSX, @PennDOTNews, @PhillyCLIP, @StreetsPhila, @PhilaSanitation, the Office of Strategic Partnerships, @thehrpgroup, @GrndReconsiderd, @Pennoni, the Neubauer Family Foundation, Connelly Foundation, @PhilaFund, the Philadelphia Funder Collaborative for the Semiquincentennial, and the Hamilton Family Foundation, and artist Carlos Lopez Rosa.

Pennsylvania Horticultural Society is helping transform Philadelphia’s highways through the “Gateways to Philadelphia” beautification project. Inspired by a “Ribbon of Gold” palette, new gardens will bring waves of gold, purple, and blue blooms to key corridors for years to come.
Congratulations to Pedro on this fantastic achievement! Being recognized at the Mayor’s Gala is a huge honor that highlights his hard work, dedication, and the amazing impact he has made in the Philadelphia community.

Dear CLIP Team,
Thank you for your continued support of our annual A Broader Green: Earth Day Service Project. Your partnership plays a vital role in helping us advance our mission to revitalize North Broad Street and bring our Maintenance, Landscaping, and Capital Improvement efforts to life.
Because of your generous tool support, we were able to make a meaningful impact along the corridor—beautifying nearly a mile of North Broad Street, planting 700 bushes, 200 perennials, and 1,300 annuals. These improvements not only enhance the physical environment but also contribute to a stronger sense of pride and community for all who live, work, and visit the area.
We are truly grateful for your partnership and shared commitment to this work. We look forward to continuing to build together. Attaching a few pictures from our great (and rainy) day of beautification!
With appreciation,
Shalimar Thomas and North Broad Street!
CLIP's Deputy Director Jerry Eley was in attendance representing CLIP at Mayor Parker's Budget Town Hall Meeting last night, it was a packed house and full of information for the residents regarding the budget. @PhillyMayor
Congratulations to new Captain Dana Bradley of the 39th District. CLIP's Outreach Director Vernon Smith & Senator Shariff Street were in attendance for her Town Hall Meeting discussing the issues. @PPD39Dist@SenSharifStreet
At 10th & Vine, @PhillyCLIP brought that spirit to life during their Philly Spring Cleanup project. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to tackle nuisance graffiti, clear away trash and debris, plant greenery, and cut back overgrown shrubs, transforming the space little by little.
Deputy Director Jerry Eley attended Council President Johns very productive and informative Quality of Life Meeting this week. If you would like CLIP to attend your community meeting, pls contact @Vernon[email protected]
Kudos to Miguel, Carmen, Kensy and NSU Neighborhood Service Unit Police Officer Rickey Whitfield & Aunja Richards – Executive Director & Program Coordinator for taking the time to talk about Civic Engagement this past Saturday with CLIP. They then put their words into action and cleaned a vacant lot on 3700 N Carlisle St. The CLIP Team thanks you very much for your efforts and leadership
On behalf of the Bridesburg Cougars, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to CLIP and the City of Philadelphia for providing a crew and equipment to clean up Bridge Field. What you did for our community means more than words can easily express.
As a small, volunteer-driven non-profit, we operate on a shoestring — relying almost entirely on the generosity of our neighbors, local supporters, and partners like you to keep our program alive and our field usable. There are moments when the weight of that instability is very real, and it is in exactly those moments that the support of the City and its dedicated employees reminds us that we are not doing this alone.
The work your crew put in has given our kids a safe, clean space to play and practice — something that may seem small from the outside but is enormous to the families and young athletes who depend on this field. It is a tangible reminder of what city government can do when it shows up for its communities.
Please pass along our sincere thanks to every member of the crew who gave their time and effort. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and for the City's continued investment in neighborhoods like Bridesburg.
With appreciation,
