Super successful mixer tonight! Thanks to all who came out and shout-out to @phillymag for hosting us! 🏆 #DiversityOnOurTerms

[Ernest Owens @MrErnestOwens]

THREAD: One of the most infuriating lies told in journalism is the disgusting myth that Black writers can't do long-form (over 3,000 word pieces for magazine)

What Jeffrey Goldberg implied today was not just sexist, but racist and furthers the institutional stigma/bias.

[Ernest Owens @MrErnestOwens]

THREAD: Been seeing a lot of young Black writers, mainly freelancers, on here venting about the industry and how it works.

Wanted to give you my two cents. I've been doing this so far for seven years and I thought I'd give a stream of consciousness out there for those seeking.
