Came out of bunker and had my tuppence worth on what needs changing at Chelsea.

Spoiler: it’s not the manager. Yet.

@WilliamHill #YourOdds Jude Bellingham or Harry Kane to win the 2024 Ballon D’Or

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

Hard to believe that it has been just two years since Chelsea won the Champions League. Barely any evidence of that triumph remains at Stamford Bridge, in any form.

Phew

@TheWiseCho Bayern are the reigning European champions and have won it 6 times in total. If they aren’t a big loss then nobody is. Plus the thrill of watching your team play Barca or Bayern is because it is so rare. If it happens every month then where is the novelty?

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

My five-year-old self would have hated the concept of the European Super League and my middle-aged self hates it too. Here's why:

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

@TheWiseCho Would they be the best in the world? Bayern aren’t there. PSG aren’t either. Plus would the best players want to play in an essentially meaningless competition and forfeit the chance to potentially play in and win the World Cup? I highly doubt it.

[WE ARE THE SHED ⭐⭐ @WeAre_TheShed]

Supporters will be heading to The Bridge tomorrow from 5.30 to make their voices heard in the absence of being inside the ground

This is not aimed at the team but the board

Take banners, take signs but remain socially distant & wear a face covering if you can #FuckSuperLeague

[Tim Rolls⭐⭐ @tim_rolls]

Chelsea and City seemingly spinning that they were in some way unwilling accomplices in the ESL plans, and are only participating so as not to be ‘left behind’.
One easy way to demonstrate that unwillingness. Walk away from the ESL,apologise to their supporters and move on.

Where are all the Twitter morons calling out Willian now? You’re an absolute embarrassment to proper Chelsea supporters - just stick to playing football in your Playstations or, better still, go away and be ‘fans’ of another club #NotWantedHere

I ran the London Marathon this year. I wrote this about my experience https://t.co/PE8GEuZSZ9

Farewell Eden. It’s been an absolute pleasure.

Could not be happier to have been proved wrong 😎

My thoughts on another embarrassing away day for Chelsea and the risk of replacing Arsenal as London's laughing stock https://t.co/kewjCByYis

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

As for Sarri, the last couple of months has seen the penny drop, both for the manager and the players. He might not be everybody’s cup of tea but the kernel of a team is developing. Would be happy to see him at SB next season, doubt that will be the case though.

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

The first half hour aside, that was a very professional team performance. Hazard will understandably grab the headlines but Kovacic, Emerson & Christensen quietly excellent.

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

Another year of turmoil, another trophy. Whatever anyone says about Chelsea, it’s never dull. 🏆

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

@AshleyConnick @FryRsquared Thanks mate!

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

@NLisewsky Correction, 29 years. I’m not quite that old!

[Phil Lythell @PhilLythell]

@NLisewsky Therefore I assume you exonerate Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Azpi, Luiz & Cahill, all of whom have won MULTIPLE major trophies with Chelsea? In any case winning even 1 PL title is a hugely significant achievement. I spent the first 39 years of my life waiting for CFC to win one.
