Year 5 students from The Cathedral Primary School came into our school last Thursday for a lovely afternoon of bread making! Thank you to Year 13 student ambassador Sophie for being an excellent baking instructor, and to all of our brilliant young bakers.
@EngChurchPics St Oswald’s Burneside. The present Church was built in 1881, but has been a Church site since 1602. The present building was designed by Mr C.J. Ferguson of Carlisle and built by five rag stone wallers.

@EngChurchPics St. Mary's was consecrated as a parish church in 1856. The architecture is Victorian in style using local stone and slate. Following a catastrophic fire in 1988 the church was restored.

Brigflatts Meeting House, Cumbria. Built in 1675 it is the oldest meeting house in the north and, depending on the source, the second or third oldest in the country. George and Margaret Fox attended a meeting here in 1677. It is the subject of a poem by Basil Bunting. 1/2
The Chapel @SedberghSchool, Cumbria. The Lancaster architects Austin and Paley were commissioned to design the chapel, which was built in 1895–97 at a cost of £7,827. G2*L. Gothic Revival.
Here we go.. some primary news! ‘For primary assessments, key stage 1 tests in English reading and mathematics, and the English grammar, punctuation and spelling tests at key stage 1 and 2 will be removed for one year, in recognition of the challenges posed by the pandemic.’
A birthday celebratory #TodaysLoveliness (birthday cake-ish): Little Chapel, Guernsey. A work of art and labour of love by Brother Déodat, begun in March 1914. It is a miniature version of the famous grotto + basilica at Lourdes. This is the 3rd version of the chapel.

The Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall, Bradwell-on-Sea, #Essex, is among the oldest largely intact Christian churches in England; it is still in regular use. It dates from the years 660–662. G1L.
