@johndory1914 One of my favorite places to visit when I lived in Sindelfingen, outside Stuttgart. On Saturdays once a month or so we would go to Colmar or Strasbourg for a nice lunch, buy some wine, and stop at Carrefour for groceries, since the stores in Germany closed at 2:00. I miss it!
@phillyaws@TimelessTrvlr Boise is my home, and nothing could be further from the truth. We have a history of tolerance and respect. First state with a Jewish Governor. First to allow women to vote. Never a single person lynched. Black Americans have been community leaders for decades.
@KilpatrickKeli@yesofficial I found a recent CD extended edition that has an A cappella version of “Leave It”that I love.
It’s one of those albums of my youth that still resonates today.
@HerndonforIdaho Property taxes fund local government functions, schools, local roads, fire & police, city and county operations.
How do local governments fund operations if property taxes are eliminated?
Good governance in the past means we’re a prosperous state now. How to keep it that way?
@giveashitnature But the needles of the yew are extremely toxic to wildlife, and deer and elk can die within a few hours of grazing on the yew trees. They used to be sold as ornamental plants but are banned for sale in Idaho now.
@markwolters54 Yes, apparently they had quite a time selecting a Producer and finally convinced Eno to come on board.
On this first listen I’m pleased with the results. Looking forward to spinning it a few more times to soak it up.
U2, The Unforgettable Fire
A new acquisition, the 2009 remaster of this album originally released in 1984. It’s a very different sound for U2, very atmospheric, and not the rock-anthem style of previous records. Pride (In the Name of Love) was the big single.
Toto, IV
A perfect Sunday evening record, songs you know by heart, performed by among the best musicians in rock history.
Originally released in 1982, my copy is a 2020 Euro pressing of the 2028 remaster.
Time to chill and enjoy!
@GenTXer2 When I sold high-end audio gear in retail back in the day, I used Arc of A Diver as demonstration music to show off the components. They almost always went home with a copy of the album even if they didn’t buy the stereo equipment.
Pink Floyd, The Wall
I’m not sure why this just fits my mood tonight. Reflective, a little melancholy. Lots of anxiety and some anguish.
“Is there anybody out there…”
