She spent the first few days convinced she was failing. Every decision felt uncomfortable. Every meeting made her nervous.
But something surprising happened. Problems got solved. Deadlines were met. The team actually listened to her. Two weeks later, senior management offered her the role permanently. She sat quietly for a moment before accepting.
When I was in my second year in school, my dad was selling the house he and I lived in because he was getting remarried. One of his wife's friends, her husband was an electrician and had to do some work to fix some minor code violations for sale.
This was the first time I met this guy, never had met his wife. He had keys to the house and wasn't expecting me, so he was kind of surprised when I came home. He was with a woman who was "helping" him. I didn't think anything of it.

Aunt after aunt told me I would understand when I had kids of my own. They kept saying family should always come first.
I realized how brilliantly my mother had spun the story. She never mentioned that Payton was skipping the wedding for a Caribbean cruise. She never mentioned Julian’s golf trip. She just told everyone I was being inflexible and cruel.
The final straw came when my dad finally called me. I thought maybe, just maybe, he was calling to apologize for my mother’s public meltdown. But no. His voice was quiet, hesitant, and entirely weak. He sighed and told me the stress of the wedding planning was causing my mother a lot of health issues.
He said the tension in the house was unbearable and Payton was a wreck. Then he delivered the final blow. He said that given how hostile things had become, he and my mother were seriously debating whether they should even attend the wedding. He claimed they did not want to bring negative energy to my special day, framing their absence as a favor to me.
They were punishing me because I refused to bow down. They were withdrawing the one thing parents are supposed to give unconditionally: their presence. I told my dad to do whatever he felt was right, and I hung up.

The morning of my wedding finally arrived. I woke up before the sun even started to rise. The house was completely silent except for the low hum of the refrigerator. I stood in front of the full-length mirror in the guest bedroom, slowly buttoning my white shirt and adjusting my dark tie.
I looked at my reflection, trying to process the magnitude of the day. This was supposed to be the happiest morning of my life. I was about to marry Hazel, the woman who had brought so much light and sanity into my world. But sitting heavy in the pit of my stomach was a cold, hard knot of anxiety.

To be honest, you all don't hate APC like my father does.
Because of 2027 election, my Dad created a group chat for his fellow senior citizens and former colleagues
After adding everyone, he then dropped this message in the group
“If you will be voting for Tinubu next year, quietly leave the group and remember to delete my number too”
This is 2 months since the group was created, nobody has left😂.
My daughter took me to the Social Security office to “help” me process my benefits card, but when the girl typed in my SSN, she closed her laptop and whispered to me:
“Ma’am, don’t sign anything… you’ve been listed as deceased for three years.”
That wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was seeing who had been collecting the money in my name all that….
Bros, see Peter Obi full cabinet with names, faces, portfolios — everything transparent like water! Now tell us, where Tinubu secondary school classmates? Primary school mates? NEPA came to knock on our gate. I did not answer. Unfortunately, the gate was not locked, so they let themselves into the compound. I had no choice but to answer them. They greeted. I asked them if they were here to cut the light. They said yes.
I responded, " I'm in support. Cut it!" and walked back inside the house. The man was shocked.
We have not had light for months. The estate contributed over 30 million to procure a transformer. No show. Just stories and low voltage that cannot charge a torchlight. Every roof has a solar panel. That's how bad we have lost faith.
Yet, they had the audacity to come and check for bills. He insisted I call somebody else. I asked him how he thought I would be able to charge my phone to make a call if there was no solar. Cut the damn thing.
We should have invited them a long time ago to do this. When they were done, I went to greet them and told them, "Well done." 👍
