And that will be England gone,
The shadows, the meadows, the lanes,
The guildhalls, the carved choirs.
There'll be books; it will linger on
In galleries; but all that remains
For us will be concrete and tyres.

@andrewdoyle_com He’s not gone. He now has 6-8 weeks to make havoc and bring us ever closer to war with Russia, and also to commit GB to getting ever closer to EU and committing go to more payments to Zelenskyy.
This is presumably why you’re a tad low intelligence? Not thick but not as bright as any politician needs to be. Bye the way, Nye Bevan went down the pit too nut was extremely bright and look what he achieved.
I didn't go to Harvard.
I went down the pit with my dad. That's where I learnt what real people in the real world expect from their politicians.
There you go, answered it for you.
So Zelensky waddles into Davos like a man who just realized the world credit card finally got declined… and instead of humility, gratitude, or even basic self-awareness, he decides to lecture Europe like a spoiled trust-fund kid mad his allowance got cut.
This wasn’t a speech.
This was a tantrum in a suit.
He stood there — in front of the same global elites who’ve already shoveled oceans of cash, weapons, and political capital into his war — and had the nerve to scold them for not doing enough.
Not fast enough.
Not recklessly enough.
Not “burn-your-own-countries-down-for-me” enough.
Then he goes after Viktor Orbán like a petty ex who can’t handle being told “no.”
Let’s be clear:
Orbán runs Hungary.
Zelensky runs a GoFundMe with a flag.
And the audacity… my God.
This man actually implied Europe should build a joint army, escalate tensions, and maybe even let Ukraine help defend Greenland — because apparently the next step in global stability is letting a war-torn country with zero economic footing lecture NATO about Arctic defense.
That’s not leadership.
That’s delusion with subtitles.
And the tone?
Pure entitlement.
Not “thank you.”
Not “we appreciate the support.”
But “you owe us more, and if you don’t comply, you’re basically on Putin’s payroll.”
That’s not diplomacy — that’s emotional blackmail with a microphone.
Meanwhile, Orbán calmly reminds him that Hungary still helps Ukraine, still shelters refugees, still provides aid… but refuses to light its own country on fire to satisfy Brussels’ war fantasies.
And suddenly Zelensky’s mask slips.
The moral crusader becomes a scolding hall monitor.
The wartime hero becomes a bitter nag.
The symbol of resistance turns into a guy angrily shaking the donation jar.
You could feel the room go cold.
Not because people disagreed —
but because they realized the script had flipped.
This wasn’t strength.
This was panic.
This was a man realizing the applause is fading, the checks are slowing, and the world is getting tired of being emotionally hijacked.
Davos didn’t see a leader yesterday.
They saw a man who’s confused sympathy for obligation,
support for obedience,
and patience for weakness.
And when even the global elites stop clapping…
you know the act is wearing thin.
Harsh truth?
Zelensky didn’t embarrass Europe.
He embarrassed himself.

Bombshell: Oliver Sacks (a humane man & a fine essayist) made up many of the details in his famous case studies, deluding neuroscientists, psychologists, & general readers for decades. The man who mistook his wife for a hat? The autistic twins who generated multi-digit prime numbers? The institutionalized, paralyzed man who tapped out allusions to Rilke? Made up to embellish the stories. Probably also: the aphasic patients who detected lies better than neurologically intact people, including Ronald Reagan's insincerity. https://t.co/77nQRF8kp6
Very reminiscent of the 1930s in Germany when the growing nazi party (National Socialist German Workers Party) did similar things and were ignored by decent people fearing a violent response if they showed their disagreement.
Earlier today I visited my brother @EnochBurke in Mountjoy Prison. A tough visit. He’ll be there for Christmas. Locked in a 12x6 foot cell for 20 hours a day. The price of saying No to “they/them” pronouns for a child and refusing to sell out to LGBTQ+ tyranny.
